Purpose
Statement
At
First Baptist, Cordele, we believe music is a gift available to us to
be used to teach Biblical principals and to express our praise to
God. We believe this is best accomplished through the use of
our
many gifted members in teaching and leading musical experiences which
lift up the name of Jesus.

Worship Choir
With
the beginning again of our Worship Choir rehearsals on August 4, there
is no better time for YOU to join our wonderful choir. During the month
of August, as well as premiering a brand new Christmas musical, we will
begin rehearsing new music for the fall and winter. We have some great
new praise/worship and gospel music to begin preparing. If you want to
be part of the wonderful Worship Choir family at FBC Cordele, pray
about it and then act on it. I hope to see you on August 4 at 6:00pm in
the sanctuary.

Prayer Meeting Revisited
Recently I had
the opportunity to lead a Wednesday evening Prayer Meeting. Before the
blessing of leading the Prayer Meeting came the blessing of preparation
for the Prayer Meeting. As I began to study the scriptures on prayer
and to re-read the several excellent books on prayer, I was again
reminded that we often forget the place and power of prayer in a
believer's journey. Oswald Chambers has so accurately stated in his
writing entitled Prayer the Holy Occupation that "Prayer does not fit us for the greater work, prayer is the greater work." Andrew Murray states in his classes With Christ in the School of Prayer that
"If there is one thing I think the Church needs to learn , it is that
God means prayer to have answer, and that it hath not entered into the
heart of man to conceive what God will do for His child who gives
himself to believe their prayers will be heard." My request of you is
that you pray the entire month for the Holy Spirit to move mightily in
our worship services. Just do it! Let's rejoice in what God will do!
